SUMMER 2012:

We will not have an application period in advance of the Summer terms. All permits will be sold at the Parking Services office beginning on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at 8:30 AM (date subject to change). Please note that we never sell out of Summer permits, and we rarely sell out of any particular lot or garage over the Summer. If you do not need your Summer permit on 5/8/12, you may purchase it any time after that date, and you needn’t worry that we will be sold out of spaces in the core of campus if you wait until later to purchase your Summer permit. Please see below for further details about purchasing Summer permits, in the section titled AVAILABLE PARKING & FEES – MAYMESTER AND SUMMER I AND II.

FALL 2012:

Applications will be available online via parking accounts in MyCharleston from April 9, 2012 through June 4, 2012. Early registration is for returning students only; transfer students and non-resident Freshmen will be able to purchase permits at our first-come, first-serve sale on Wednesday, August 15, 2012. We will send out an email reminder to all students, including the online application instructions, prior to 4/9/12. (All dates are subject to change.)
*Please note: if you are currently a resident Freshman student and do not have at least 30 cumulative credit hours, you will not be able to apply for parking until your grades have posted (posting deadline is 5/8/12 at noon). As soon as your account has updated and MyCharleston is showing that you have 30 or more hours, you will be able to apply for parking.

First-Come, First-Serve

Transfer students, non-resident freshmen (freshmen who do not live in campus housing), and returning students who missed the application and/or payment deadline(s) will be able to purchase permits at our first-come, first- serve sale on Wednesday, August 15, 2012.  Please watch your College of Charleston gmail account for further information about first-come, first-serve. By 5 PM on Monday 8/13/12, Parking Services will send out an email to all students with specific details about first-come, first-serve, including:
•    The time we will open for business on August 15
•    The number of permits by location that we will have available to sell on August 15
•    The items you will need to bring with you to purchase a permit on August 15
A photo ID and vehicle registration must be presented at time of purchase.

Student permits are valid in all student surface lots after 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and all day on weekends.

STUDENT ELIGIBILITY

Students will be assigned parking based on the number of cumulative credit hours earned and on file with the Office of the Registrar at the time that assignments are made. In the event of identical credit hours earned, applications first received will have priority.

Students living on campus who have fewer than 30 cumulative credit hours earned and on file with the Office of the Registrar at the time that assignments are made are not eligible to apply for College parking.

Eligible resident students living in a Bull Street house or an odd-numbered Coming Street house may request on-street residential parking (CR).
