FALL 2017

Parking Services is currently sold out of Fall 2017 student parking permits, with the exception of evening-only, motorcycle/moped, and handicap accessible permits. (*Please note: if you are currently a resident student and do not have at least 60 cumulative credit hours, you will not be able to purchase a parking permit from the College of Charleston.) Students in need of parking may also contact the vendors listed on our Alternative Parking List.

SPRING 2018

Applications for the Spring 2018 semester will be available online via students’ parking accounts in My Charleston from Tuesday, September 12, 2017 through Monday, October 23, 2017 at 5 PM. Early registration is for returning (currently enrolled) students only; transfer students, new graduate students, and non-resident Freshmen will be eligible to purchase permits anytime during or after our first-come, first-serve sale on Thursday, January 4, 2018 (see below for more information about first-come, first-serve). We will send out an email reminder to all students, including the online application instructions, on 9/12/2017. (All dates are subject to change.)

*Please note: If you currently reside in campus housing and have fewer than 60 cumulative credit hours, you will not be able to apply for your permit during this application period, even if you will have more than 60 hours by the end of the Fall 2017 semester. You will, however, be eligible to purchase a permit during our first-come, first-serve sale on 1/4/2018. (Eligibility will not guarantee you a parking space; due to our limited supply of permits, we will likely sell out of permits on 1/4/2018.)

First-Come, First-Serve

Transfer students, new graduate students, commuting freshmen (freshmen who do not live in campus housing), and returning students who missed the application and/or payment deadline(s) will be eligible to purchase permits at our first-come, first-serve sale on Thursday, January 4, 2018. (NOTE: This sale excludes any student who lives in campus housing and has fewer than 60 earned credit hours as of 1/4/2018.)  Please watch your College of Charleston email account for further information about first-come, first-serve. By 5 PM on Wednesday, 1/3/2018, Parking Services will send out an email to all students with specific details about first-come, first-serve, including:

•    The time we will open the online permit purchase process on January 4
•    The number of permits by location that we will have available to sell on January 4

Your current vehicle registration may be requested when you come to the Office of Parking Services to pick up the permit that you purchased online.

Please note that eligibility will not guarantee you a parking space; due to our limited supply of permits, we will likely sell out of permits on January 4.

STUDENT ELIGIBILITY

Students will be assigned parking based on the number of cumulative credit hours earned and on file with the Office of the Registrar at the time that assignments are made. In the event of identical credit hours earned, applications first received will have priority.

Students living on campus who have fewer than 60 cumulative credit hours earned and on file with the Office of the Registrar at the time that assignments are made are not eligible to apply for College parking.

Eligible resident students living in a Bull Street house or an odd-numbered Coming Street house may request on-street residential parking (CR).
